White Rasgulla( chenney ke rasgulla)

Hello everyone.. Today i am gonna tell you an awesome sweet dish which is famous in West Bengal (Kolkata)…i guess  all Indians or your sweet tooth would have recognized as of now.  Yes it is white Rasgulla. Trust me its so easy to make and delicious to eat. So let’s begin to make the same.

So if you want to make say 8 rasgulla of medium size then what all you need is  1 litre full cream milk, 2 cups of sugar, Lemon (4-5 nos.) 2 tablespoon of milk and 4 cups of water.

So lets start cooking…First what you need is to

split the milk…its simple ..first let the milk boil and then let it cool down for say 5 mins.  Once your milk is cooled down say 80% then  add lemon juice (squeezed from lemons) with equal amount of water ie.( for eg: 3 Tblsp of lemon juice then add 3 tblsp of water). You need to add gradually, please do not pour the mixture at once. Simultaneously you need to stir milk and mixture. After 3-4 mins, you would start seeing splitting of milk.  Once you completely see the milk is separated with yellowish water, you would get white chenna. So here is your first ingredient ready. Keep one muslin cloth on one strainer to drain out yellow water. (At end know how to use this yellow water in making other recipe).

Now since lemon drops were used in this process so just to remove flavour of it just wash Chenna with one glass of water. Once you are through, you need to tighten the muslin cloth to squeeze all water out from Chenna…Now you would see soft white chenna.. let it cool down for some time and then start kneading it so to make it more smooth..this is required for say 10 mins.

Once you see a kind of dough then you may start making round small balls. Remember to make half size of what in actual size is required for rasgulla.

Simultaneously   you can take pressure cooker to boil water mixed with sugar… so as per measurements you need to take first 2 cups of water with 1 cup of sugar. and boil it in pressure cooker  once it starts boiling add some drops of milk, you would see some dirt at corners, you are required to take it out from spoon and then add chenna small balls into it. Cover the lid and wait for weight to release pressure. Simmer your heat.. let it cook for exact 10 mins and turn off the heat. Open the cooker once all the pressure is release, please do not open in hurry.

So the remaining 2 cups of water with 1 cup of sugar has to boiled separately. Once the sugar is dissolved in it, as above add some drops of milk, to take out the dirt.  Turn off the heat and let it cool completely.

Once you open the lid of pressure cooker  you would see cooked rasgulla of double size of what you dropped in…add the above made cool sheera into it. You can now chill the same and have post your dinner or whenever your stomach demands for:)

Tip: the yellow water which is separated out of Chenna, you can use the same in making delicious kadi.

As the winters are in we all get suffered by Nose block, itchy throat and fever. What is the first step we take? We go to medical store and buy a medicine or cough syrup on recommendation of the chemist rather than even know the effects of the pills.

How to use in Blocked nose:

Step 1:Take a few drops of eucalyptus oil and add it to a vessel of boiling hot water and inhale the vapors through your nose and exhale through your mouth.This will help in reduction of inflammation of the mucosal linings, and expel the phlegm built up in airways and help make breathing easier.

Step 2:Make sure your head, and forehead are well covered after you finish the inhalation process.This will avoid further congestion, due to the sudden change in temperature. Make sure to do it at least three times a day in case of a severe cold and two times a day in case of a moderate one.

For easy breathing while sleeping:

  • Take a  few drops of eucalyptus oil  on a soft cloth and placed just below the pillow cover. It’s gradual release of aroma will help to unblock the nose and make you feel better to breathe. Do this for at least three nights in succession.

To relieve a blocked nose during the day

Take a few drops of eucalyptus oil on your handkerchief and keep sniffing it throughout the day (do not put it on tissue it will not help as the oil will evaporate very quickly). To help the scent last longer you could seal the handkerchief in a zip lock bag and sniff it when you feel really uneasy. Do not use the same handkerchief to wipe your face and nose, eucalyptus oil tends to sting and can be quite uncomfortable if applied inside the nostrils.

The best part about eucalyptus oil is that it does not stain your clothes and evaporates really quickly, so you can use it safely without the fear of ruining your favorite clothes.

More Benefits of Eucalyptus Oil:

  • It can be used as natural insect repellent: Add 15-20 drops of oil in distilled water and mix in a cobalt blue spray bottle. Shake well before each use.
  • It soothes the muscular aches and pains: Add 15- 20 drops in bath water.
  • It clears the Dandruff: Add 10 drops of oil in your shampoo.
  • It can be used in mouthwash, toothpaste, detergents and liniments for arthritis pains.
  • Eucalyptus oil can be placed in a humidifier.
  • It can also be used to release sinus pressure.
  • Gargling with eucalyptus tea may also treat bad breath.
  • Gargling eucalyptus leaf tea may soothe throat inflammation or sore throat. To make Eucalyptus leaf tea steep a quarter to half teaspoon of fresh or dried eucalyptus herb in a cup of hot water for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • It is also not advisable to drink eucalyptus herb tea, if you suffer from any digestive, bile or liver problems or diseases.

  • Hot Water, Tulsi leaves, Honey and Lemon juice.
  • Take 1 tsp of green tea for one cup of tea.
  • Put the green tea on strainer.
  • Boil the water and Tulsi.  Keep an eye on water so that you come to know when it starts get boiling.
  • Place the filled tea strainer or sieve into an empty mug or cup.
  • Pour the heated water into the mug, over the tea leaves.
  • Steep the tea leaves for 2 – 3 minutes but not any longer, or else your tea will become slightly bitter.
  • Remove the tea strainer from the mug.
  • Let your tea cool down for a few moments and enjoy your perfect cup of green tea.
  • Add honey if you want sweet taste in your tea and lemon for additional taste.

  • Don’t boil green tea and water together. You’ll kill helpful catechins.
  • Add lemon. Vitamin C makes the healthy compounds in green tea easier to absorb. Dairy, on the other hand, makes it harder to absorb the catechins.
